Over the summer of 2023, we invited the people of Cambridge into the Story of Us Studio to share a story of their favourite mistake. Each sitter co-created the visual representation of their story with a Together Culture artist.

We are raising £50,000 to open our first Citizen Studio. 60% of proceeds from portrait sales will support our efforts. The other 40% of proceeds will go to our Together Culture Helpers as a commission for their work.

Each portrait includes a visual and written interpretation of the story told by the sitter. The written story is presented in a handmade leporello book, created by Simon Shaw of Probably Books.

About Simon

Simon is a modern languages graduate from Cambridge University. Simon has run 'Festival of Failure' events and has seen how much we can learn from embracing what hasn't gone well. After graduating he failed in his application to be artist in residence at his college, but did organise a joint photography and painting exhibition with Wysing Arts students at the little known Cellarer's Chequer in Priory Road. As Probably Books he handmakes books for writing, collage, photo montage and watercolour.
